Admission Criteria

While reviewing applicants, American universities use a holistic approach. An applicant’s potential and academic success are possibly the most important factors to be considered but American universities also value the applicant’s reason to attend the University, Professional experience, extra-curricular activities, and character.
The most important factor that universities consider when selecting applicants from India is their academic performance. This includes the applicant’s high school GPA and the rigor of their coursework.
Since English is the primary language of communication in most American Universities, they look for students who have shown their English proficiency skills and have scored the best on the test.
They may consider factors such as the applicant’s exposure to Western culture, their ability to adapt to new environments, and their overall fit with the university’s values and mission.
Universities also consider an applicant’s extracurricular activities, such as sports, volunteer work, or leadership positions. This demonstrates the applicant’s interests and passions outside of academics.
Universities may also ask for recommendation letters from teachers, and counselors. These letters can provide insight into the applicant’s character, work ethic, and potential for success in college.

Three Recommendation Letters from the HOD, Professors, Assistant Professors, or Lecturers of the Graduation College
Bank Statement for INR 15–18 Lakhs on the bank's letterhead (Attested by the Branch Manager)
Affidavit of Support from the Sponsor
TOEFL / IELTS, SAT, GRE & GMAT score report photocopies. Official scores should be sent directly to the university through ETS.
Educational Resume / Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Passport photocopy (First and Last Page)
Passport-size Photograph
Work Experience Letter (if applicable)
Any other qualification or extracurricular activity certificates (Attested by the Graduation College in a sealed envelope)
For Architecture & Fashion Design, a Portfolio or Project Report is required.

The USA Universities require a student to have an English proficiency test score (TOEFL, IELTS, or other equivalent). The required minimum score may vary by institution but is typically between 90-100 on the TOEFL iBT or 6.5-7.5 on the IELTS for the students who are applying for Masters course, and 61-100 on the TOEFL iBT or 6.0-7.5 on the IELTS for the students who are applying for Bachelors course.

2. Need-Based Scholarships

Offered by selected universities to students who demonstrate financial need. Eligibility depends on the institution’s policies and the student’s financial circumstances.

3. University-Specific Scholarships

Most U.S. universities offer scholarships exclusively for international students. These may be based on academic merit, extracurricular achievements, leadership potential, or program-specific criteria, with eligibility varying by university and course.
